چکیده

Purpose. Evaluate if human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in lung cancer patients might be helping development by altering p16, p21, and PCNA, key genes involved cell proliferation tumor development. Methods. 63 fresh-frozen (FF) formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples from were used to detect HPV PCR, followed genotype through sequencing. The host gene expressions of PCNA quantified qPCR both FF FFPE samples, the expression viral oncogenes E5, E6, E7 was also measured 19 samples. Results. 74.6% positive for HPV, 33/44 14/19 HPV-16 HPV-18 detected 31/33 7/33 FFPE, respectively, only type expressed 10/19, 2/19, 4/19 respectively. p16 RNAm higher HPV+ FFPE+FF while p21 showed all HPV- In turn, samples; however, a significant correlation as well E5 E7, inversely correlated p21. also, observed between HPV. FF+FFPE analysis, direct found HPV+, HPV-, an inverse HPV+. Also, protein 10 1 HPV-. Conclusions. Our data show that Northeast Brazil have high prevalence virus expresses its correlates with This could instigate studies focused on preventive strategies, such vaccination, prognostic indicator and/or individualized therapy.

Relationship between the expression of miR137 in the serum of patients with metastatic lung cancer

Background: Micro-Ribonocellic Acids (miRNA) are non-coding nucleic acids that are evolutionally protected and have a length of 24-20 nucleotides. MiRNAs control the expression of genes after transcription by mRNA degradation or translation inhibition. By blocking the oncogenic miRNAs and creating the necessary and functional miRNAs (tumor suppressor), these small regulatory RNAs can have thera...

CirculatingMiR-10b, MiR-1 and MiR-30a Expression Profiles in Lung Cancer: Possible Correlation with Clinico-pathologic Characteristics and Lung Cancer Detection

Circulating microRNAs have been recognized as promising biomarkers for the detection of lung cancer. The objective of this study was to evaluate miR-10b, miR-1 and, miR-30a in the plasma samples of lung cancer patients to confirm any possible relevance in the early detection of lung cancer. Plasma samples from 47 non-small-cell lung cancer patients and 41 cancer-free subjects were evaluated for...

HPV Status and Its Correlation with BCL2, p21, p53, Rb, and Survivin Expression in Breast Cancer in a Chinese Population

Despite recent evidence, the role of human papillomavirus (HPV) in breast carcinogenesis is controversial. The correlations of HPV infection with the clinicopathological features of breast cancer and the expression of cell cycle/apoptosis-associated proteins have not been well elucidated. In this study, we sought to determine the prevalence of high-risk HPVs (HR-HPVs) infection and BCL2, p21, p...

Correlation between Expression of hsa-miR-490-5p and NFAT5 in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell Obtained from Breast Cancer Patients

Breast cancer is a complex genetic disease that has an average annual incidence of two million people and the second leading cause of death among women all over the world. Micro-RNAs are consistently reported to regulate gene expression in all cancers. The present study, the correlation between the expression of hsa-miR-490-5p and nuclear factor of activated T-cells 5 (NFAT5) in breast cancer w...

Immunohistochemical expression of mdm2 and p21 in invasive cervical cancer: correlation with p53 protein and high risk HPV infection

Aim—To investigate the immunocytochemical staining pattern of mdm2 and p21 proteins in invasive cervical cancer and to determine its relation with the expression of p53 and with the high risk HPV infection. Methods—Immunocytochemistry for p53, mdm2, and p21 was performed in 31 paraYn embedded sections of invasive cervical cancer. The results were assessed by image analysis, evaluating for each ...
